As resident isolation has increased as a result of COVID-19, so have in-room falls. We will take a comprehensive look at fall prevention through the lenses of resident health, room design and layout, and post-fall clinical and operational change management. In this course, attendees will learn to understand traditional Memory Care room design and the new thinking behind emerging fall reduction design ideas, learn how aging and illness impact a resident’s ability to safely navigate his or her environment and finally, they will explore environmental, behavioral and operational modifications that promote a safer living environment.
